Hey Guys, buckle up this is going to be a long one.
So I thought this evening’s blog post I could let you guys get to know me that little bit better, I’ve seen a few people do this and thought I’d give it a shot myself, so I’m going to answer 20 questions and hopefully that gives you guys a little bit more information about little old me.
So I just typed getting to know you questions on google and looked through many pages till I found the best type of questions, I found 100 getting to know you questions on this site http://www.signupgenius.com/groups/getting-to-know-you-questions.cfm and picked my top favourite 20 questions that I would love to answer and that’s exactly what I’m going to do, so here it goes.
Question 1: Who is my hero?
Okay no matter how cliche this may sound I would have to say my parents are my heroes, I can’t just say one parent over the other because they’re both bloody awesome. They’ve made me the woman I am today and even at the age of 24 they’re always there when I need them no matter what and I will forever be grateful to call them my parents.
Question 2: If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
I knew the answer to this question as soon as I saw it and I’d have to say if I could live anywhere it would have to be New York, it’s one of my favourite places in the world and I’m so excited to visit next month.
Question 3: What would you change about yourself if you could?
Okay so I’m not sure if this question means physically or in general so I’m going to answer both, if I could physically change something about myself it would have to be the bump in my nose, this runs in the family and without sounding horrible and offending family members I’ve always hated it, I’m just not a fan of it (sorry family) and in general if I could change something about myself it would have to be to not care what other people think about me, or decisions I make, I’m so bad at always worrying about what other people think about me. (like right now thinking people are going to judge me on how I answer these questions)
Question 4: What is your proudest accomplishment?
I’d have to say my proudest accomplishment has to be graduating from uni, when I was coming to the end of college I wasn’t even sure that I wanted to go to uni I had it in my head that I was going to have a gap year first and try to figure out what I actually wanted to do, but after talking to family and friends I decided that I was actually going to go to uni and yano what it was one of the best things I done, I made friends for life and I’m so grateful for everything that uni taught me.
Question 5: What would you sing at a karaoke night?
This question is so easy, I’m an absolute sucker for karaoke and whenever there’s a chance for me to grab a microphone and sing (usually staff nights out) I will, my go to karaoke song HAS to be Whitney Houston I wanna dance with somebody, I absolutely love this song and love to sing it at the top of my lungs too.
Question 6: What is your biggest fear/s?
So I have 2 biggest fears, the first one is death, yup the thought of dying actually terrifies me, I want to live forever and I know that may sound stupid to so many people but I’m being so honest in answering these questions and that’s one of my fears. My second fear is not being able to have children, yes I know there’s so many ways out there that can help when it comes to having children but I’d love to be able to conceive on my own, again this may seem like a stupid fear to others but it’s one of mine. Yes I may only be 24 but I literally cannot wait to be a mother and it’s definitely something that I want to start thinking about soon.
Question 7: Have you ever had a nickname? if so what was it?
I’ve had many nicknames, so lets start from when I was a little girl my nana used to always call me blotty and sar sar and I definitely think that if she was still alive today then those nicknames would still be kicking about. And a nickname that 3 of my closest friends call me is saz miles.
Question 8: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
So in 5 years time I’m going to be 30 (ahhhhh) and by then I’d love to be married, have at least one child, be in a stable job and own my own home. Simple and honest answer for a simple question.
Question 9: What’s your favourite zoo animal?
If you guys didn’t already know, my favourite zoo animal HAS to be an elephant, I’ve spoken about my love for elephants in a few of my blogs and for people who have read my previous blogs then you will understand this, Marko still hasn’t taken me back to the zoo to see them. And if you have no idea what I’m talking about go back to one of my very first few blogs titled a little insight into my life and you will understand this reference.
Question 10: If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be?
This is a great question and a tricky one might I add but, the first person would definitely have to be Whitney Houston, I absolutely love her music and would love to be in her company. Second person would have to be Perrie Edwards from little mix, she is my ultimate girl crush and I’m a massive fan of little mix. Third person would be Kevin Hart, I absolutely love Kevin Hart he literally has me crying whenever I watch a show of his so I think he’d be a great addition to a meal. My fourth and final person that I would have at my meal would have to be my mum, she’s like my best friend so I would definitely share the evening with her too.
Question 11: What is your favourite family recipe?
I’m an absolute sucker for home cooking and living away from home I miss my mum’s homemade cooking, don’t get my wrong I love cooking and making homemade meals but nothing beats your mum’s cooking does it. A firm favourite of mine and something that I ALWAYS make my mum make whenever we visit each other is something we like to call panak (it’s a northern thing) there’s some many different names for this but it’s basically, corned beef, sausage meat, onions, potatoes and gravy (that’s how my mum makes it) all mixed together in a glass container and placed in the oven. This is one of my favourite meals to eat especially on a cold night.
Question 12: What three items would you take with you on a deserted island?
Wether or not I had signal I would HAVE to take my phone with me, imagine all the pictures you could take. I would also take a good book gives me something to read if I don’t have phone signal, and I would take coffee with me, I can’t live without coffee now.
Question 13: What’s the most unusual thing you’ve ever eaten?
A lot of people might not see this as unusual a lot of people might, but I was on a school trip when I was in year 7 or 8 I think it was and we went to France and obviously one of the delicacies over there is snails and I thought to myself when would I ever eat a snail normally and I thought yeah I’m gonna try it. It was so horrible and I would never eat one again but yeah that has to be the most unusual things I’ve ever eaten.
Question 14: Which of the 5 senses would you say is your strongest?
Out of the 5 senses I would have to say that my strongest would be my sense of smell, my eyesight is terrible (I’m short-sighted) I’m always shouting WHAT when someone far away asks me a question or tries to talk to me, I’m not the biggest fan of trying new things so taste wouldn’t be up there and touching things also just ain’t up there, whereas I love smelling new things, the smell of flowers, the smell of cooking and I’m a sucker for the smell of rain so my strongest sense is definitely smell.
Question 15: What do you do to keep fit?
Okay so I cannot stand exercise and I’ve gotta admit I rarely ever do it, I wouldn’t necessarily say that I’m unfit but I’d just much rather spend my time doing something else other than exercise, unless occasionally walking to work, running up and down stairs or walking the dog counts as exercise then yeah I’m just not that into it.
Question 16: What 3 things do you think of most each day?
I’m always thinking about food, no matter if I’ve just eaten food will always be on my brain, sounds odd but I think about life A LOT, I will just go into my own little world and just think about life, life in general, life in a few years time, life in a few days, you get the gist. And I also think about my bed, I love my sleep (I mean who doesn’t) so no matter where I am whether I’m at work, out shopping or even when I’m at home I’m thinking about bed time.
Question 17: If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have?
Okay so whenever I’ve previously been asked this I used to always say I’d love to fly but when I really think about it I would actually love to read people’s mind, imagine speaking to someone and they’re being all nice to your face but deep down they actually don’t like you.
Question 18: If you could join any past or current music group who would you want to join?
Younger me would have definitely have joined Steps, S club 7 or B*witched, older me would join Little Mix for sure.
Question 19: If you had a warning label, what would yours say?
Warning: Swears a lot
Question 20: Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
So at first I thought I was a bit of both but I thought hey let me do a test and answer some questions to see what I actually was and it turns out I’m more of an introvert. Once it came up saying I was an introvert I had to read on and understand why. For anyone that wants to do the little test and find out if they’re an introvert or extrovert, it’s literally 14 questions long and you can find it here: https://www.psychologies.co.uk/self/are-you-an-introvert-or-an-extrovert.html
This is what the paragraph read and I kid you not this paragraph is me to a tee so I 100% believe that I am indeed an introvert.
You feel that living alone is to live happily, and you prefer hiding in a crowd rather than standing out in one. You are perpetually tormented by the idea of doing things wrong, not understanding or not being alert enough or intelligent enough to do what others expect of you. You lack in self-confidence and you seem to believe that others are better than you. While in a conversation, for example, you would be more likely to go along with the other’s points of view as you don’t fully respect your own opinions. Where there’s a low level task to complete or a service to be allotted, it’s you who volunteers. When people want to get out of a task, they naturally come to you as they know that you never say ‘no’. It’s not surprising that you sometimes have the impression of being permanently exploited, but you don’t really know how to break this vicious circle. On the rare occasions that you’ve tried to do so, this uncharacteristic defiance has caused uproar and you’ve ended up backing down. You are afraid of contact with others as you imagine that they are constantly judging you and that their probing looks will obviously find your faults. So, you try to remain the most transparent and discreet possible. How far will you take this logic of self-denigration? Try and stop projecting onto others the bad image you have about yourself. Have a good look around you and you’ll see that they too have faults, weaknesses and shortcomings, so stop finding excuses for everything. Maybe you were brought up in an atmosphere of ‘You’ll never make the grade’ as a child — a poison that you need progressively to get out of your system. Learn to look after your own interests — everyone else does, so why not you? You too have desires, dreams and opinions — express them. If you think that by saying no or thinking differently from others that you will no longer be loved, it just isn’t so. Others will learn to respect you because you respect yourself.
So guys there we have it, now you have a little bit more information and insight about me as a person and who I am, I actually really enjoyed writing this post and I feel like I opened up so much, some of my answers are something that I would never usually come out with but I wanted to be 100% honest in this post and that’s exactly what I’ve done. I hope you guys enjoy reading.
