Meaning behind my blog name

Ever wondered where I got the name from my blog from, well I thought I’d share with you guys a little back story and explain how I came to the decision of The world is my oyster’, so here it goes.

The world is your oyster

‘You are in a position to take the opportunities that life has to offer.’

This is my favourite ever quote ever and something I live by.

Once I graduated from the university of Sunderland in July 2015 I sorta had this gut feeling that I wasn’t going to be staying in Sunderland for very much longer. 4 days after I had graduated I started making plans to move and that’s exactly what I done and by September 2015 I was all moved into my own little flat in Manchester. This was by far one of the hardest things I think I’ve ever had to do yet, leaving all my family and friends and being independent, and I’m going to be completely honest I did struggle, although I managed to find work okay and I did make new friends I just hated living alone. All of this changed once I met Marko in December of that year, I started visiting him a lot and he came to visit me so I was never really alone anymore and this was when I decided I was going to move back to where I was born, Northampton. Things between me and Marko moved very quickly we’d obviously met in the December, we started dating in the March and by the April we had our own flat together. So yeah with these two instances I just saw the opportunity and just went for it because nothing was really holding me back.

Like I said this quote is something that I live by and when I decided that I was going to start a blog I knew that I wanted this quote to be incorporated into my blog name somehow, so that’s when I thought I’d use the quote but change it to the world is my oyster and I absolutely love it. I thought I’d struggle when it came to choosing a blog name but I was so wrong because straight away with this quote I just knew, and when you know, you know.

So there we have it, nice simple post today and the meaning behind my blog name.
