Tis the season to be jolly, fa la la la la la la la la
Lets be real here guys we all love a little tipple at Christmas time, whether it’s a bucks fizz or a Christmas cocktail, so I thought I’d put together a little Christmas drinks menu.
So first things first lets start off with bucks fizz, I actually think every single family will have a bucks fizz on Christmas morning, I feel like it’s a tradition in many households, you can make it yourself as it’s super easy or you can pick up a bottle already made from a super market. For people who don’t know what it is it’s made up of 2 things 1 part Champagne 2 parts Orange juice, don’t want people being drunk before 10am now do we.
Another Christmas drink that I feel is a household favourite is the good old mulled wine, I for one have never tried mulled wine before, may be a shock to some as I’m a fond lover of a glass of wine or 7 but this for sure is going to be a drink that I try this year.
Onto cocktails now, and this one has been a favourite of wine since I tried it about 2 years ago now in my old local pub when I lived in Manchester and it’s called Jingle berry. This cocktail contains, Malibu, Vodka, Chambord raspberry liqueur, with britvic cranberry and this was such a great cocktail and one I think I’ll make this year for sure. There was also another one on the menu too called festive rum punch which I didn’t get to try but one that I will for sure make and it contains Tia Maria, captain Morgans rum and britvic orange. Two easy cocktails that could easily get made up for your guests to enjoy over the christmas and even new year period. Below is the image of said cocktails you can see for yourselves how amazing and delicious they look.
Okay back onto what I think is another household favourite and something I haven’t tried but something that I actually really want to try is eggnog, I can be really fussy when it comes to drinks but I love trying new things so maybe I will also give this a try this year. I mean it’s easy enough to google but hey I wanna add it into my blog post, eggnog contains the following.
475ml double cream
12 egg yolks
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
12 egg whites
200g caster sugar
1 pinch ground nutmeg
I mean it’s only fair that I add in some non alcoholic drinks in here too for people who aren’t drinkers or can’t drink, unlike me who loves a good tipple.
Lets start it off with a cranberry fizz, I feel like cranberry is such a festive drink and all you gotta do is add Ginger ale, cinnamon sugar and lemon or lime to your cranberry juice for a festive mocktail.
Instead of your typical mulled wine, how about a mulled apple juice, it still holds all the festive flavours just minus the alcohol.
Or how about a nice warm hot chocolate to keep you warm on these cold winter nights, spice it up with a bit of peppermint or honeycomb, the possibilities are endless when it comes to hot chocolates or hot drinks in general.
But always remember guys to drink responsibly.
