Blogmas Day 8 – What Christmas means to me

Damn I’m doing good, we’re now onto day 8 of blogmas and I’ve actually managed to post every single day even if I’ve thought a post wasn’t great or even now when I’m not feeling too great I’ve still managed to get a post out for you guys and I’m absolutely loving it, I hope you guys are enjoying reading them as much as I’m enjoying writing them.

Today’s post is going to be about what Christmas means to me, so let’s get straight into it.

Christmas can be very different for a lot of us but for me Christmas is all about spending quality time with your loved ones. This is a time where you cherish the people you have around you, after all it’s not all about the gifts under the Christmas tree that matters its who’s around it.

Christmas changes the older you get, and now that I’m older Christmas has a totally different meaning, when I was younger I used to be so excited to wake up at like 5am and wake my parents up so we could open presents, now I’m still sleeping till like 7-8am, may even push it to 9-10am because I just love sleep so much. Don’t get me wrong I do still love waking up on Christmas morning and getting really excited to open presents but it’s just so different now I’m older.

Being older I’m now so grateful for everything my parents done when I was younger around the Christmas period to make it so special for me and my brother, you don’t actually realise everything that goes on behind the scenes when you’re a kid you just think about the presents. Although it’s just me, Marko and mr Lou on Christmas morning, I’m still so stressed because I’m the one that’s cooking, cleaning and making sure everything is right, and when you think about it everyone is running around like headless chickens just for one day that is over in a blink of an eye.

Something I can’t forget to talk about and that’s stuffing your face with food and getting merry over the Christmas period, I’ve just been talking to my friend Jordan about drinks and the conversation has now made me want a bottle of baileys, I like trying new things and I think this year it’s going to be baileys.

Feel like I’ve went a bit off topic in this post so yeah Christmas for me is all about spending quality time with the people you love the most, making new memories, eating plenty of food and getting merry.
